Nowadays, few employers have started to look at the formal education of the candidates to assess them and do not pay attention to their practical knowledge while hiring them. The reason for this is the rise in the demand for jobs which has created pressure on the employers and they resort to go for more paperwork than practical aspect. In my opinion, this is a positive development since it enables them to train the employee according to their norms and policies.

The primary reason for such a selection process is the fact that there has been a manifold increase in the demand for jobs in the recent past. This high demand has grown due to the rising world population across all the continents and countries who produce a large number of literate youngsters every year seeking jobs in multinational companies. These fresh graduates compete with already experienced workforce to get the best possible employment in top companies which leads to a higher pressure on the hiring people, therefore, they look for the paperwork more than skills and give chance to the fresher also. For example, by looking at the certificates and degrees of an individual, the employer can take the judgement to hire him or not, rather than calling him for the interview and then spending time to know his experience and knowledge.

This is definitely a positive approach as an inexperienced person will work exactly the way the company trains him to and not apply any knowledge from the previous employer. This leads to a workforce with a clear vision of the company's aim and it is easy to manage them since all of them speak the same official language. For instance, an employer can tell all his people to focus on customer's needs and not on the profits even if some of them used to work with someone who focused on sales alone.

To conclude, by looking at the papers of the candidates, the process of hiring is made quicker and more beneficial for the company.
