Overall, males were arrested more compared to females with the most common reason for arrest being public drinking and the least common reason being no answer for both the genders.
Firstly, the percentage of males that were sent behind bars was 32% which was much greater than that of women who were at 9%. The reasons for the most recent arrests were somewhat different for both the genders since men were almost twice as likely to be arrested for drinking and driving as women, at 26% and 14% respectively. Breach of order, theft, and other reasons were also slightly higher for men, with all these crimes being around 12% to 18% for both sexes. Conversely, women had a higher percentage of arrest rates for assault and public drinking whereas men were in the range of 3% to 6% higher. The remaining cases were no answer with women about 7% while men about 4%.
