IELTS General Writing Task 1 (Letter Writing)
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You would like a temporary job working in the summer camp which runs sports and outdoor activities for children and young people next summer. Write a letter to the organizers of the summer camp.
In your letter:
- explain what sort of job you would like to do
- describe your personality
- say what experience and skills you have
Here's a sample answer
Dear Sir / Madam,
I am writing this letter in reference to an upcoming camp which your company is going to organize this summer. I would like to take the opportunity to apply as a part-time worker there. I am an aerobics trainer and can train children from 5yrs to 15yrs in Yoga and Breathing practices. I can also take care of rock climbing equipment along with maintenance of the safety harness related to the bungee jumping activities. I can also supervise the young people whilst they enjoy their time at the camp and correct anyone who may cause harm to self or others.
I carry an easy-going personality and really like to be around the children especially those who are learning anything related to adventure sports. I have a friendly approach with everyone and that is why I have a good rapport with a number of parents whose kids I have trained in the past.
I have worked with Red Cross Society in their Himalaya Expedition for 5yrs where I was responsible for ensuring the safety of the participants. In addition to this, I have a 3yrs of experience as a bungee instructor at AutoCross Mountain Jumping which took place in Gudem Hills, Bihar from 2011 to 2014. I am a graduate from the University of Ohio, California with a certification in Yoga from YMCA, Texas. I am also a gold medalist Crossfit Trainer from the Gold's Gym.
