IELTS General Writing Task 1 (Letter Writing)
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You have lost something on a bus and called customer service to get help. You weren't happy with their response. Write a letter to the bus company manager.
In your letter, you should:
- describe the item you lost
- explain why you weren't happy with the customer service
- say what action you would like the company to take.
Here's a sample answer
Dear Sir/ Madam,
I am writing this letter to express my dissatisfaction with your customer service department for not getting assistance in finding out the lost items. Last Monday, I lost my wallet on the bus while travelling from Mysore to Bangalore from the central bus depot in the evening. My ticket number was A3036. After reaching home, I realised that my wallet is missing from my jeans pocket, which I hung on the hanger next to my seat. It is a Camel Brown color GUCCI wallet and made up of pure leather, it also has my name inscribed in golden color on the front. Moreover, apart from some cash, it has my identity proofs as well like Aadhaar Card and Driver's ID, which are utterly essential for me.
I immediately called your 24/7 online help service and spoke with one of your representatives, however, they seemed uninterested to act quickly and provide assistance since they not only kept my call on hold for more than an hour, there were no updates or messages from their side which would provide any sort of information pertaining to my concern. After almost 8 hours, I was informed via a text message that they had raised a ticket and a senior officer will call me within 4 hours to give a status report on this. It has been more than 30 hours and I still have not received any call from anyone.
I am extremely disappointed with your unprofessional staff and I would request you to please take an immediate action on this. I would really appreciate if you could expedite my case and provide me with a suitable solution as it more than two days and I am still waiting for an update.
