IELTS General Writing Task 1 (Letter Writing)
You have decided to apply for a job as a Spanish instructor that was advertised in the April edition of the magazine Teaching Professional. This ad was posted by Mr John Sullivan, director of the Spanish department at The Language Institute of Great Britain in London, England. In your letter to Mr Sullivan:
- explain why you are writing
- describe your qualifications and experience
- explain how they can contact you

Dear Mr. Sullivan,
I am writing this letter in reference to an advertisement that was published in the April edition of Teaching Professional magazine, where you had posted about a job opening for a Spanish Instructor in your institute. I feel that I am suitable for this profile and would like to express my desire to apply for the same.
I have completed my Masters in Teaching foreign students from the University of Michigan (USA) and currently pursuing my PhD in Spanish from the University of London (England). Apart from this, I have also done professional Spanish grammar course from London School of Teachers where I learnt about different writing styles of this language and now I feel I know a great deal about them. This makes me confident to take up a teaching profile with full enthusiasm and impart Spanish skills to the students.
While I was in USA, I used to work part time at a language school and teach students from India, Australia, America and China. Moreover, I have also accumulated over 7 years of Spanish teaching by working in various organizations in the past decade. In total, I carry over 10 years of training expertise with both foreign students and working professionals.
