Nowadays people consider lying  just to avoid the situation doesn't matter a lot. Moreover, because punishment for lying doesn't exist, people easily think that there is no problem regarding not telling the truth. However speaking the fact is important because everyone lives under a relationship, which is made upon truth. I agree that truth is the most important consideration in connections.

First and foremost, it's hard to restart a relationship which broke due to a lie. These bonds start with trusting each other and once that bridge, which links them, breaks, there is no way to fix it. How can someone be sure that the person won't lie twice? Once lying can make all truths become questionable. For instance, my friend had a girlfriend and he caught her cheating on someone else. Since then, even though my friend still liked her,  their relationship could never be fixed and eventually broke up. Therefore, if these basic elements for relations are gone, then they can never be repaired.

Next, lying leads to other problems. According to an old saying, "Lies create another lies", telling false information guides people to create even bigger lies, eventually making one forget the lies they've said. Even confusing others. Furthermore, such habits would produce bad rumours about oneself and suffer. For example, I had a friend who always told lies. At last, she couldn't even remember what she told us and we discovered that all the things she was telling us were false. Then some of my friends started to spread rumors about her. As a result, she couldn't make any friends and transferred school. Hence, falsehood triggers larger issues.

To conclude, because being untruthful breaks friendship and lays troubles, even if what you're telling is a white lie, we should always consider fact as the first thing in a relationship.
